This Week's Top 5 Favorite 1stdibs Items: Red, White and Blue!

Our nation's birthday, the Fourth of July, has come and gone this year, but that doesn't mean it's time to give up on that patriotic color scheme: red, white and blue. It's always a good time to show your country you love it by incorporating its colors in your decor. We've grabbed pieces from this week's newest 1stdibs listings that aren't too bright or annoying. Instead, we grabbed darker, more sophisticated hues of red, white and blue to make your home have that old-world color palette look. Enjoy!

1) Credenza by Joaquim Tenreiro
We love the combination of that earthy, deep red with the jacaranda wood. Although the design is from Brazil, we think it has enough of a Mid-Century modern shape---straight lines and no fuss---to make it a perfect candidate for an American-themed space.

2) Lacquered Metal Mirror
Though the metal motif in the frame of this Ferrari-red mirror is clearly an oriental, bamboo design, we can't help but see something else. If you stand from afar and kind of squint a little, can you make out the hints of fireworks in the frame? Okay, perhaps that's a stretch, but the red color certainly is exciting!

3) A Pair of 1970's Chest of Drawers
We love the shape, size and glossy white color of these 1970's chests of drawers. Simply shaped, they feature fun gold drawer knobs that really give the piece some style.
Price: $5,800

4) A Florence Knoll Armless Sofa
What's more American than Knoll? This great sofa features strong lines and a nice Mid-Century Modern/United States of America style, and all in a fabulously bold and deep, rich blue.

5) Jensen Carpet
Our favorite piece! Who can have a slightly American-themed room without some stars and stripes! Okay, there are no stripes in this rug, but you won't need them with these adorable stars all over this rug. We love the old-fashioned look to the colors of the rug, too. It'd go perfectly with all the other subdued colors in today's picks!
